Riverside Motors was founded in 1974 by David and Sheila Clarke on a small site in Ottery St Mary. From the humble beginnings of a Nissan Hut with and inspection pit, Riverside Motors have now established themselves on the Finnimore Industrial Estate with their “new” workshops. The project was designed and managed by the family who also did a huge amount of the work involved in the building and fittings. It was a very proud day for them when the premises were opened in November 2011.

David & Sheila's daughter Sarah and son Simon joined the business as managers after years of seeing how things were done and customers are now often met by their young children who like to come to visit. Sarah and Simon have kept the business moving forward with their vast knowledge of technology and modern day business strategies.

A fully skilled team of technicians have a spacious workplace equipped with the latest technology. There are four service bays with vehicle lifts capable of lifting the smallest car to up to five ton vans. This includes a state of the art four wheel alignment lift which, using the latest 3D Wheel Geometry technology, gives the customer a printed report on alignment faults and the consequent adjustments.

Electronic System Diagnostics are at the forefront of work at Riverside Motors. They make continual investment in both the latest equipment and staff training. Technicians are regularly enrolled on Bosch training programmes, to Diagnostic and Master Technician levels, including IMI accredited training in Hybrid and Electric vehicle systems. A new extension to the existing building provided the space for the automated MOT test lane where Cars, Vans and Motorhome up to 3.5 ton are tested in the most accurate way.
